General Convention of The Episcopal Church

General Convention is the denominational legislative body of the Episcopal Church. General Convention consists of the House of Bishops, which includes all active and retired bishops of the Episcopal Church, and the House of Deputies, which includes four clergy and four lay deputies from each diocese and mission area as well as from the Convocation of the American Churches in Europe. Dioceses may also elect to send alternate deputies in both the clergy and lay orders. General Convention meets once per triennium and sets the Episcopal Church’s budget and other policies, including worship, mission, and more.
