Areas of responsibility:
Stephen’s job is approximately half youth ministry and half campus ministry and young adult ministry. He is responsible for helping to facilitate youth ministries in the Kanawha, New Southern and Southwestern deaneries. He will organize regional youth events and participate in Province III and national youth events. During the summer months, Stephen will serve (with Jason Beschinski) as the Summer Program Coordinator.

The other half of Stephen's time will be spent at Marshall University as a campus minister. There he will serve as a mentor to college students and seek to help them to find a role in the church. Mentoring takes place often around the dinner table - either in a more traditional dinner setting before the weekly worship service or informally "checking in" with students at one of the campus' cafeterias. A key element of this position is organizing weekly worship services (typically Holy Eucharist) on Sunday evenings and, eventually, a weekly Bible study. He will also work to involve college students with national Episcopal young adult events.
