Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) 2008
San Antonio, Texas

Dates of the event: The actual event will be held at Trinity University in San Antonio July 8-13. Our diocese will be flying out of either Columbus or Pittsburgh, depending on airfare options. Our group will meet at Sandscrest (in Wheeling) on the night of the 7th, and fly out in the morning. We will return to Sandscrest on the night of the 13th, and parents can pick up youth at Sandscrest on the 14th. Including travel, this event will span July 7-14.

Application Procedure: All students who will have completed grades 9-12 in the spring of 2008 are eligible to attend EYE. The application is due in the diocesan office by February 1, 2008. Each diocese is allowed to take 12 youth and 3 adults, with the option to apply for more spots in early spring, if needed. The diocese will notify applicants by February 15 in terms of who is a participant and who is on the waitlist.

Cost: Registration for the event is $480, plus $420 airfare to/from San Antonio ($900 total). The diocese will cover 1/3 of the total cost per person (up to $350). We are asking each participant to pay 1/3 and for their parish to pay 1/3 (either through fundraising or youth ministry funds). Some additional scholarship money is available through the diocese and the  province on a case-by-case basis (once local options have been explored).
